Blasterpusher fly fishing flies

My name is Øystein Vallestad Næss, and I've been fly fishing and tying flies for nearly 35 years. Over the years, my passion for the craft has grown steadily, and I've built up extensive knowledge of techniques and materials that ensure the highest quality flies.

My journey as a fly fisher has taken me to some of the world's most exotic and challenging fishing destinations. For the past 25 years, I've had the privilege of traveling to tropical waters and remote rivers, where I've honed my skills, explored new techniques, and met incredible people from diverse cultures.

Through these experiences, I've developed a deep understanding of fish behavior and habitats—something that's reflected in every fly I tie. Each fly is meticulously handcrafted using premium hooks and carefully selected materials to give both you and me the best possible chance of success.

I offer handmade flies specially designed for a variety of saltwater species, along with complete packages tailored to your destination. My flies are simple and straightforward—made for the fish, not the fisherman. I prioritize natural materials over synthetics, as they bring more life and movement to the fly in the water.

Looking for quality flies that reflect years of dedication, passion, and expertise? Then you've come to the right place. Let me help make your next fishing trip an unforgettable experience with flies designed to land the most elusive fish. I'm proud to share my experience and knowledge with fellow fly fishers. My flies aren't just tools—they're small works of art that combine aesthetics with functionality. I'm constantly refining my techniques and learning from the best in the business so I can offer custom flies tailored to your preferences and needs.

Blasterpusher – The Story Behind the Name

My nickname, Blasterpusher, comes from a small saltwater fly fishing community in Bergen. I earned it over 20 years ago after a visit to my favorite pub—Pete's Pub—in Little Harbour, Abaco, Bahamas.

At this legendary pub, they serve a famous rum punch called the Blaster, made with generous amounts of various rums, minimal mixers, and served in classic red plastic cups. Three of those in one night, and you can forget about fishing the next day!

One particularly wet Saturday night, I ended up behind the bar, enthusiastically serving Blaster drinks to the other guests—and that's how I got the nickname Blasterpusher.
